I'm Fine

Hello Internet!

This poem was based off of a conversation I had with my mom.



She's worried.
She shouldn't be.
I'm fine.

I try telling her that
but it doesn't stop.

I'm not isolating myself,
I just enjoy being alone.

Kids my age try to talk to me,
i answer their question,
and move on.

I can talk more free
with adults.

I can connect
and make them laugh.

This song really does speak to me. I don't know who I am either. I spend a lot of my time in my room by myself thinking, singing writing, and watching YouTube. I definitely don't play by the rules of the game. Most girls my age are obsessed with "boyfriends" not writing poetry. Through poetry I think I have found who I am and am able to express myself like I can't anywhere else. Poetry allows another level of human emotion.  Even if you think you can't write, you can write a poem that expresses true emotion.
